Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Freiburg to Basel, crossing the border into Switzerland. As we approach Basel, you’ll immediately notice the harmonious blend of historic and contemporary architecture that characterizes this cosmopolitan city.

Our first stop is the Basel Minster, a stunning Gothic cathedral that dominates the city’s skyline. With its distinctive red sandstone, twin towers, and intricate sculptures, the Minster is a must-see landmark. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the interior, admire the beautiful stained glass windows, and even climb the towers for a panoramic view of Basel and the Rhine River.

Next, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through Basel’s Old Town, where narrow, winding streets are lined with well-preserved medieval buildings, quaint shops, and inviting cafes. Key highlights include the Town Hall (Rathaus), with its vibrant red façade and elaborate frescoes, and the Marktplatz, a bustling square that has been the heart of the city for centuries.

Art lovers will be thrilled with a visit to the Kunstmuseum Basel, renowned for its impressive collection of artworks spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary times. Explore masterpieces by Holbein, Picasso, and Van Gogh, among others. Our tour also includes a relaxing boat cruise on the Rhine River, offering a unique perspective of Basel’s beautiful riverside architecture and scenic landscapes. As you glide along the water, you’ll see the impressive buildings of the pharmaceutical giants, Roche and Novartis, as well as the modernistic Messe Basel exhibition center.
