Hiking tour of Transylvania from Bucharest or Brasov – 7 Days Tour
Embark on an unforgettable private hiking tour across Transylvania, tailored for active travelers seeking dramatic mountain landscapes, cultural heritage, and authentic local charm. Starting in Bucharest or Brașov and ending in Sibiu, this seven-day adventure blends scenic treks through Romania’s most iconic mountain ranges with visits to legendary castles and medieval towns.
This private hiking tour through Transylvania is a tailor-made experience crafted for active travellers with good physical fitness and a passion for the outdoors. From the ancient streets of Bucharest or the foothills of Brașov, we venture deep into the heart of the Carpathians, exploring the stunning Bucegi, Piatra Craiului, and Făgăraș mountain ranges. Our itinerary features a balance of high-altitude hikes (up to 2500 meters), breathtaking panoramic trails, and more leisurely days to discover Transylvania’s unique heritage and rich traditions.
We’ll hike through landscapes that shift from dramatic rock formations and wildflower meadows to glacial lakes and gorges, always under the guidance of an experienced mountain guide. Between hikes, the itinerary includes visits to Romania’s most spectacular landmarks: Peleș Castle, the elegant summer residence of Romania’s royal family; Bran Castle, famous for its connection to the Dracula legend; and the imposing Gothic fortress of Corvin Castle.
The tour concludes in the historic city of Sibiu, a Saxon jewel known for its cobbled streets and pastel-colored architecture. Along the way, you’ll rest in welcoming 3-4 star guesthouses and mountain lodges, sample hearty Romanian cuisine, and enjoy stories of local culture and mythology.
This is more than a hiking tour – it’s a journey into the soul of Transylvania, where natural beauty, folklore, and heritage create an unforgettable experience.
