This tour combines the best of Icelandic nature with the charm of the legendary Icelandic horse. Begin your journey at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can stand between the diverging tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia. Witness the stunning beauty of the rift valley and learn about the historical significance of the site, which was the location of the first Icelandic parliament established in 930 AD.

Next, you’ll marvel at the geothermal wonders of Geysir Hot Springs, where the lively Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, sending steam and hot water soaring into the sky. The tour continues to Gullfoss, also known as the “Golden Falls,” where glacial waters tumble dramatically into a narrow canyon, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

After soaking in these incredible sights, it’s time to meet the Icelandic horses at Eldhestar Riding Center. Suitable for all experience levels, your one-hour horseback ride will take you through picturesque meadows and lava fields, offering a unique perspective of the stunning Icelandic landscape. Feel the special gait of the Icelandic horse, known as “tölt,” as you ride through this captivating terrain.

Customer Reviews

  1. (5/5)

We booked this tour hoping to experience both iconic sights and something more personal—and it delivered perfectly. The riding part was peaceful, scenic, and a great way to experience Iceland’s landscapes beyond the road. The horses are truly special—strong, small, and full of personality. Combine that with geysers and waterfalls, and you’ve got the best day in Iceland.

  2. (5/5)

The classic Golden Circle tour is already amazing—but adding a horseback ride took it to another level. The geysers and waterfalls were awe-inspiring, and the horses were just lovely. The staff at the stables were welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable. Would’ve loved a slightly longer ride, but it was still an excellent, well-rounded experience.

  3. (5/5)

This tour was a dream come true! We explored the stunning sights of the Golden Circle—Þingvellir, the geyser, and Gullfoss—all breathtaking. But the horseback ride was the real highlight. The Icelandic horses were gentle, sure-footed, and a joy to ride through beautiful countryside. Our guide made it easy and fun, even for beginners. An unforgettable blend of natural wonders and authentic local experience!
