This unique kayak tour begins on the beach at Camping Stobreč, just outside of Split in the historic seaside suburb of Stobreč, the city’s oldest district. After a quick safety briefing and introduction to paddling techniques, you’ll launch into the tranquil bay and begin your journey toward the Žrnovnica River estuary.
As you paddle upstream, you’ll be immersed in nature—overhanging trees provide shade, the water is cool and clear, and the sounds of the surrounding wildlife create a peaceful ambiance. Towering above, the Mosor Mountain Ridge and its green slopes form a dramatic natural backdrop. This quiet, shaded section of the river is a refreshing escape from the heat and bustle of Split, especially on hot summer days.
After enjoying this calm river setting, you’ll return to the open Adriatic Sea, where the landscape shifts dramatically. We did this as a family of four with two teenagers, and it was everyone’s favorite activity of the trip. It was easy enough for all of us but still adventurous. The mix of river and sea made it really special, and the guide made sure everyone felt comfortable and had fun. A must-do for nature lovers!
Camping Stobreč is such a peaceful starting point, and it felt like we discovered a secret part of Split. We were a small group, and it never felt rushed. The scenery was incredible the entire time, and we ended with a swim in the sea. Bonus: the free photos from the guide were a great surprise!
