Saariselka: Visit a Husky Farm and 2 Hour Husky Safari

Begin your day with a scenic transfer from Saariselkä to a charming husky farm nestled in the remote forests of the Inari region. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the sound of excited barking and wagging tails—an unmistakable sign that the huskies are ready to run. Before your journey begins, you’ll meet the mushers (dog sled guides) who will introduce you to the dogs, explain their training, and walk you through the essentials of dog sledding.

You’ll receive full instruction on how to handle the sled and work as a team with the huskies. Once you’re comfortable, it’s time to hit the trail. The safari lasts approximately two hours and takes you deep into the snowy taiga, across frozen lakes, and along winding forest paths. Each sled is typically shared by two people—one driving, the other sitting—offering the chance to switch halfway through and experience both perspectives.
