After a brief orientation and safety instructions, we’ll embark on our journey, gliding through the tranquil waters of the Crmnica River beneath the historic Old Bridge, a testament to the region’s rich heritage dating back to 1905.
As we paddle onwards, we’ll traverse through the high water grass area, designated as a nature reserve and home to a plethora of bird species. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of herons, cormorants, and other fascinating avian inhabitants as we navigate through this pristine ecosystem.
Entering the vast expanse of Skadar Lake, one of Montenegro’s five national parks, you’ll be mesmerized by the breathtaking scenery that unfolds before you. Our route takes us past the intriguing Grmozur Island, home to the remnants of an abandoned fort that once served as a prison in the 19th century, offering a glimpse into the region’s storied past.
Continuing our journey, we’ll visit the Lesendro Fort, a historic 18th-century structure steeped in legend and lore. Marvel at the architectural remnants of this once-mighty fortress before paddling onwards to Pelinovo Beach, where you’ll have the opportunity to relax, enjoy refreshing drinks, and take a refreshing swim in the pristine waters of Skadar Lake.
After a leisurely break at Pelinovo Beach, we’ll retrace our path back to Kotor, allowing you to savor the beauty of the surroundings once more before concluding our kayaking adventure.
