Kiruna: Wilderness Tour with Snowmobile & Ice Fishing

Your journey begins just outside Kiruna, where you’ll meet your experienced local guide and receive a safety briefing and all the necessary thermal clothing. After getting familiar with your snowmobile, you’ll set off into the wild, driving across snow-covered trails, frozen lakes, and through dense pine and birch forests. With every turn, the Arctic landscape unfolds in silence and splendor, offering breathtaking views that few travelers ever witness.

As you venture further into remote wilderness areas, your guide will lead you to a secluded frozen lake—perfect for traditional ice fishing. Once there, you’ll learn how to drill a hole in the thick ice and drop your line beneath the surface in hopes of catching Arctic char or perch. Whether you’re lucky or not, the calm and stillness of the environment is an experience in itself.

While you wait for a bite, your guide will prepare a campfire and serve a warm, hearty outdoor lunch—typically featuring local specialties and hot drinks. Gathered around the fire, surrounded by deep snow and a vast open sky, you’ll feel immersed in the Arctic way of life, appreciating both its simplicity and intensity.
