Are you ready for an exhilarating escape from the city? Join us for a private Carpathian off-road adventure that promises alpine roads, natural wonders, ancient legends of the Geto-Dacians, and a hidden cave monastery. Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping journey through the Carpathian Mountains, accompanied by the roar of powerful engines.

Prepare for an action-packed expedition through the Carpathian Mountains, offering a delightful mix of natural wonders, cultural legends, and off-road excitement.

Begin your adventure with a morning hotel pick-up in Bucharest and a comfortable ride to the Sinaia ski resort, nestled at the base of the majestic Bucegi Mountains. Transition to powerful 4×4 off-road vehicles as you embark on an exhilarating journey across the Bucegi Mountains via the TransBucegi alpine road. Along the way, pause at various scenic viewpoints to savor panoramic vistas and relish the sensation of being atop the world.

First Stop: Zanoaga Camping. Leave the vehicles behind and embark on a short, 15-minute hike to the entrance of Zanoagei Gorge, a pristine wilderness area featuring a babbling stream nestled between towering stone walls, lush vegetation, and picturesque bridges.

Second Stop: Bolboci Lake, also known as “The Sea of Bucegi.” Stand atop the nearby dam and gaze at the tranquil lake’s mirror-like reflections. Then, embark on a thrilling 4-kilometer off-road trail to the “Bridge of Flowers” plateau, with a stop at an ancient traditional sheepfold along the way. The surprises from this plateau view are best experienced, not spoiled by descriptions!

Third Stop: Ialomitei Cave & Monastery. Explore a place shrouded in legends and myths, some tied to the ancient Dacian civilization. Inside the cave’s extensive galleries, marvel at the Halls of Decebal (a famed Dacian King) and the Shrine Room, where you can savor the taste of exceptionally pure mineral water.

Fourth Stop: Padina Plateau. After your visit to the monastery and cave, return to Padina and relish a hearty lunch at a traditional log cabin.

Return Journey: Head back to Sinaia and then make your way back to Bucharest.

*Additional Attraction: Weather-Permitted Fifth Stop: Sphinx of Bucegi – a Natural Wonder & Symbol of the Dacian Civilization! Resembling a human face, the Sphinx of Bucegi is a natural rock formation that served as a place of worship in ancient times. It’s a marvel of nature, unlike Stonehenge or the Sphinx of Giza. You can reach the Sphinx plateau (2200 m) by cable car. If you’re up for some additional hiking, you may also venture to Caraiman Chalet (30 minutes hike) for an awe-inspiring view of the Prahova valley below!
